Dear Madam Secretary,

On behalf of the Constitutionalist Party of Iran (CPI), I would like to offer you our most sincere congratulations on the occasion of your confirmation as the New Secretary of States. We are confident that you will do a great job in implementing President Bush’s stated goal of supporting the democratic forces in the Middle East.

I would like to take this opportunity and remind you of the fact that the overwhelming majority of the Iranian people are against the terrorist regime of the Islamic Republic and View the Islamic Republic as the main obstacle in realization of their dream of a free and democratic society.

As you are also aware, Iran is the only country in the Middle East that has a pre-dominantly pro-American population. The main reason for America’s popularity in Iran despite the fanatic anti-Americanism of the Iranian government is the fact that America has refused to appease the terrorist regime of the Islamic Republic at the expense of the Iranian people. People of Iran recognize that unlike the European countries, which are too eager to appease the terrorist regime of the Islamic Republic at the expense of the Iranian people, America has stood firm on principal and in support of their struggle for freedom and democracy.

The pro-Americanism of the Iranian people is arguably the greatest asset for America in this global war against international terrorism. The collapse of the terrorist regime in Iran in the hands of the Iranian people is the greatest blow to the Islamic radicals for whom Islamic regime in Iran is not only a source of aspiration but also a source of financial as well as logistical support.

We, at the Constitutional Party of Iran, therefore sincerely hope that the Department of States under your leadership will adapt a foreign policy geared towards supporting the Iranian people. We sincerely hope that you will refrain from adaptation of any policy, which may be construed as a policy of appeasement towards the terrorist regime of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Madam Secretary, once again, please accept our most sincere congratulations.
