Dear Honorable member of U.S. Congress,
You are surely aware of the fact that the Iranian Journalist Mr. Akbar Ganji who is on a hunger strike in Tehran is near death. The President Goerge W. Bush has issued a statement in his support. But you may not know that Mr. Ganji’s situation is not unique!
There are other political prisoners who are also on hunger strike in Islamic Republic of Iran and are in grave danger. A case in point is the case of Mr. Manouchehr Mohammadi, one of the student leaders of the 1999 student uprising in Tehran.
Mr. Mohammadi is on hunger strike and is critically ill. His life is in grave danger and we need to bring immediate international attention to his case.
Amnesty International has issued an urgent call on his behalf. You may find more information on his case at:

On behalf of the Constitutionalist Party of Iran, I would like to urgently ask you to do all you can in order to help these innocent prisoners of conscience. I strongly urge you to contact His Excellency Mr. Kofi Anaan, Secretary-General of the U.N and urge him to use his good office in order to put pressure on the Islamic regime in Iran and demand an immediate and unconditional release of Iranian political prisoners Mr. Muhammadi and Ganji.
We are certain that as a representative of the freedom-loving people of U.S., you will do your utmost to defend and protect those who are fighting for the same values that are the corner stone of this great nation.
Political prisoners Mr. Mohammadi, Ganji as well as other prisoners in Iran desperately need your help. We are sure you won’t deny them your moral support.
When one is faced with Evil, silence is never an option
Respectfully yours
Shayan Arya
