The call for Carrying out hunger strikes as acts of defence for the demand of the release of political prisoners and human right activists has been welcomed vastly both from inside and outside of Iran and it has therefore opened up to a fresh season in the people’s struggles and the joining up of political forces. This is a call addressed to all defendants of the human rights in Iran and is an act for the freedom of all political prisoners, from students, workers, intellectuals and political activists, all the thousands of individuals all over Iran, from Baloochestan to Azarbayejan, whom have been thrown into prisons for the crime of demanding freedom.
Whilst the Islamic regime is preparing for new attacks against any opposition voices by implementing group arrests, it is vital that in reply to the threats of the security high commissioners of the Islamic Republic, to turn this call for hunger strike into a graceful display of correlation with the victims of the suppressing Islamic Republic. This action is one part of civil disobedience in the process of putting an end to a cleric regime and instead establishing liberal democracy within the frame-work of the international manifesto of human rights. This call does not bring our struggles to an end. By supporting this action of hunger strikes all over the world, and continuing with such conducts that have now commenced, Iran’s political forces, where-ever they may be, will be able to further develop the process of join up with those of different political tendencies by achieving a free and modern society.
